Bandy Heritage Center to host 2017 Dicksie Bradley Bandy Memorial Lecture Series

On Wednesday, March 29, 2017, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm in Room 105 of the James E. Brown Center on the campus of Dalton State College, the Bandy Heritage Center for Northwest Georgia will host the 2017 Dicksie Bradley Bandy Memorial Lecture Series.  The program: “New Frontiers: Women in Higher Education” features four select scholars sharing the history and experiences of women in Georgia’s higher education system.

Judy Cornett, Ph.D., Department Chair of History and Professor of History at Dalton State College will discuss “Women in the History Profession: A Few Personal Experiences.” Mary Nielsen, Ph.D.,  Dean, School of Liberal Arts at Dalton State College will present “From Staff Editor to Academic Dean: Evolving Challenges, Obstacles, and Opportunities for Women in Higher Education, One Woman’s Journey.”  Patricia Chute, Ed.D. Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs at Dalton State College will speak on “Women on the Move: Inspiring Women Across the Age Span.” Margaret Venable, Ph.D., President of Dalton State College will present “Moving the Needle on Women in Higher Education.”

This program is free and open to all Dalton State College students, staff, faculty, and the general public.
