On October 27th, 2025, the Bandy Heritage Center for Northwest Georgia had the honor of hosting the 2025 Filipino American History Month celebration at its new lobby gallery exhibit We Have Returned: Georgians in the Pacific War, Liberation of the Philippines, and Philippine Independence. Through the stories of two Northwest Georgia servicemen, the exhibit commemorates the shared experiences the men and women of Georgia and the Republic of the Philippines who served in the Pacific War and helped build the strong relationship the US and Filipino people share today.

Members of the Filipino-American Association of Greater Atlanta (FAAGA), the Filipino--American Association of North Georgia (FAANG), and the FAHM Committee were in attendance at the day's festivities. The event featured a tour of the Bandy Center and the We have Returned, and reading of Governor Brian Kemp's proclamation of Filipino-American History Month by Honorary Consul General Ray Donato and FAAGA board member Willy Blanco.

The Bandy Heritage Center is proud to be a resource to the Filipino community of Georgia and tell the story of how Georgians and Filipinos have shaped the dynamic histories of Northwest Georgia’s many communities.
